Holiday Market at the Just Food Community Farm!
Forêt Capitale Forest is participating in Local Flavours Holiday Markets in December. The market has a selection of holiday gifts, including crafts, baked goods, ferments, and preserves, as well as fresh food including hot food and drink.
We are going to serve warm apple cider in biodegradable cups (or bring your own mug!) that will be used to plant tree seeds afterwards! We will also sell afforestation gift cards (for the person who has everything, give the gift of increased tree canopy in the Ottawa region). The proceeds of which will be used towards funding our 2023 planting season!

WHEN: Sunday, December 4th; Saturday and Sunday, December 10th-11th, from 11am – 2pm all three days!
WHERE: 2391 Pepin Ct (in Blackburn Hamlet), at Just Food Community Farm in the Big Red Barn.
NOTE: The barn is not heated so please dress appropriately for cold weather.
Fundraising Campaign!
During the holiday season FCF will be running our “12 Days of Afforestation – Growing Ottawa’s Urban Forest Canopy” campaign. During which 12 posts will be made every other day over the course of December. Our first campaign post will be on November 29, which is Giving Tuesday. The posts will contain relevant afforestation concepts and brief stories covering some of FCFs projects from the 2022 season. We are very proud to have accomplished so much this season, thanks to our amazing volunteers and key relationships with other amazing organizations.
We encourage you to share these posts with anyone you think would be interested in donating to our mission. This includes coworkers, family and friends. We have partnered with the charity Achillea Endeavours to create a Canada Helps fundraising where donations can be made.
